Education Bureau’s Further Tightening Up of Anti-epidemic Arrangements
Continuous Suspension of Face-to-Face Learning Activities in Kumon Education Centres
Thank you for your continuous support and trust to the Kumon Method of Learning!
In view of the severity of the epidemic situation, with the number of confirmed cases remaining at a high level, the Government has announced a series of anti-epidemic measures to strengthen the protection of public health. For the school sector, in order to safeguard the health and well-being of students, teaching staff and members of the public, the EDB announced that all schools would continue to suspend all on-campus activities from July 29 (Wednesday) to August 16 (Sunday). Schools may consider offer online learning activities. Accordingly, all the Face-to-Face Learning Activities in Kumon Education Centres will be continuously suspended for two weeks.
Suspension of face-to-face learning activities does not mean put learning on halt, EDB also encourages students to have learning activities at home during the summer holiday. Therefore, the Kumon Learning Method originated from home-based education is absolutely the best choice for parents and children during the epidemic! Kumon instructors will provide maximum support of home-based learning to students and maintain close communication with students and parents.
Home-based learning from 29th July to 16th Aug 2020 will be arranged as follow:
1. Parents are encouraged to communicate and discuss with our instructors regarding the worksheet exchange arrangement, such as in person at the centres or by mail so that our students' learning progress will not be affected by the epidemic;
2. Kumon instructors will closely monitor the learning progress and grasp the learning situation of our students by offering Distance Instruction mode including phone call, WhatsApp, video call, Face Time or SMS etc;
3. Most of the Kumon Education Centres will remain open during the suspension period for all enquiries, homework exchange and other administrative work while some Kumon Education Centres may be closed in some areas in consideration of the impact of the epidemic may have in the areas where the centres are situated. Please approach our instructors for more updated Centre’s opening hours information.
Regarding the continuous suspension of face-to-face learning activities in Kumon Education Centres, we understand that our parents and students may feel disappointed and helpless. Thinking from another perspective, let’s make good use of this period to learn continuously via the Kumon Method at home, maintaining a good habit of learning every day, and even further developing the self-learning ability by challenging new topics, in order to strengthen the confidence to cope with the new school semester!
