To all Kumon Students and Parents,
Contingency measures against Novel Coronavirus for all Kumon Education Centres (effective immediately until February 16, 2020)
First of all, we wish you all good health and good fortune in the year of Rat.
In view of the number of confirmed cases of the Novel Coronavirus continues to rise, as of 10:00 am on January 28, 2020, Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health has confirmed that there have been 8 confirmed cases of new coronavirus infection, 189 hospitalized cases, and 529 suspected cases in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Government has also continuously upgraded various contingency measures to reduce the risk of spread of the epidemic.
The health of our students, parents and Kumon associates is always our top priority. In order to reduce the risk of transmission of the Novel Coronavirus and safeguard the health of our students and associates, with immediate effect , all Kumon classes will be suspended until February 16, 2020 (i.e., this suspension of classes is aligned with the guidelines from the Education Bureau) with the following details :
1. To encourage students to "Keep Moving Forward During Class Suspension" with immediate effect until February 16th, 2020, all Kumon education centres will provide correspondence learning to our students. Our instructors will proactively communicate with our parents in discussing the study progress and homework exchange arrangement in the coming 2 weeks which allow our students to maintain daily learning habit and to progress forward during the class suspension.
2. All Kumon Education Centres will remain open during the suspension period for all enquiries, homework exchange and other administrative work. Please be noted that all centres will not open for any classes.
3. To maintain personal hygiene, kindly wear a surgical mask when visiting our centres for homework exchange.
4. Disinfection in all Kumon Education Centres has been strengthened by following the Epidemic prevention guidelines given by the head office. Wearing a mask in the centres is a must for personal hygiene during these periods.
Kumon Hong Kong will closely monitor the updated situation of the epidemic and all Kumon Education Centres will keep taking precautionary measures to combat against the Epidemic. Parents can refer to our official websites and Kumon Facebook from time to time for the most updated news or arrangements.
Once again, we encourage our students to “Keep Moving Forward During Class Suspension”. Parents are welcomed to contact our instructors to further discuss the student ’s progress and weekly homework exchange arrangements in the coming 2 weeks so that our students can make progress during the class suspension and prepare for the school work after school resumes.
